Supriya was born in Bangalore, India, has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, and a M.S. degree in Operations Research and Statistics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.  She lived in Michigan for a few years and then moved her family to Foster City 25 years ago where she and her husband have raised their 2 children.  Her career has focused largely on analytics with applications in marketing, market research, advertising and branding for both large and small non-profit organizations.

Following a five-year stint at Kaiser Permanente, Supriya left in 2017, and since then has dedicated herself to volunteering for the Foster City Village. She serves as President of the Board and co-chairs our Membership Committee. Previous volunteer experience has included Pathways Home Health & Hospice, Samaritan House of San Mateo and her children’s schools. 

Supriya was instrumental in setting up and coordinates the WE CARE Program to reach members in their homes. She helps with Village events, and is a very welcome asset to this worthwhile organization.





 


Marlene Hopper

Marlene was born in Cleveland, Ohio and went to school at Cleveland Heights High School.  She moved to California in 1961, and to Foster City in 1974.  Her first career was in the clothing industry, followed by a second career in hotel hospitality.   Her time now enables her to focus on volunteering efforts for Home & Hope, San Mateo County, Peninsula Temple Sholom, and largely for Foster City Village. 

Marlene does a marvelous job as Membership Chair and Community Outreach Director for the Village, and was one of the original members of the formation team 7 years ago.  Her efforts have been invaluable in introducing the Village to local organizations, seniors, politicians and the community in general.  Her husband, Richard, serves as Treasurer of the Village, and both of them are an active part of all Village events, as well as drivers of seniors on a regular basis.  The “Hoppers” are a prominent part of the Board of Directors.

Richard was born in Princeton, Illinois and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois.  He served in the US Navy as an officer in the Civil Engineering Corps. and following active duty he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area.  He is currently the Treasurer of the Foster City Village. 

Richard is a Professional Engineer, Civil and Traffic, has served as the Director of Public Works/City Engineer for the City of Foster City, and In 1980 Richard started his own consulting organization. He continues to provide engineering services to both public and private clients.   He has served on many other organizations including the South Bay Chapter of the American Public Works Association, the Peninsula Association of Contractors and Engineers, the Bayporte Community Association in Foster City, and the Isle Cove Homeowners Association, where he presently serves as Board President. He has lived in Foster City since 1971, where he currently resides with his wife, Marlene, who is also an energetic Board Member of the Foster City Village.

Steve is a native of the Chicago area who came to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1997. Armed with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, Steve worked at San Francisco-based KRON-TV working in the newsroom when in 2008, he turned his attention to his long-time passion, real estate. 

Steve and his wife, Michelle, have called Foster City their home for the past 13 years. They have twin boys who are graduating from San Mateo High School in May 2020. The boys are currently applying to colleges in the Pac-12 . In his spare time, Steve enjoys friends, watching football with his boys, kayaking in the Foster City lagoon, working on his Land Cruiser and going to the gym.

Sabrina is a Southern California native who has lived in the Bay Area for over twenty years.  She is a solo estate planning attorney in Palo Alto who has been practicing law for over four years.  Before law school, she was a patent litigation paralegal working in Big Law.  After working on matters that were just about big companies fighting over money, she is so happy to be able to help people dealing with difficult issues. 

Sabrina enjoys playing the ukulele and tries hard to live a ukulele lifestyle, including showing up with a positive attitude and giving it a go.  She enjoys serving others and finds that a smile will get you far in life

Patricia was born in Damascus, and after a series of trainings and convent schools specializing in Nursing and Midwifery in the UK and other overseas countries, finally arrived in the US in 1996.  She immediately became active in her community as Senior Advisor, Arts and Culture and the Rotary Club, and helped institute the Senior Meal Program.  A Geriatric Care Manager, she introduced the concept of the Village to the City to enable our older population the ability to live life safely in their own homes.  Thus, the inception of the Foster City Village. She is the Owner and CEO of Maxwell’s Senior Care Services LLC in San Mateo, CA, and she and her husband have been providing geriatric care services since 2006.

As the Founder, Patricia currently serves on the FCV Board of Directors, and is actively involved in events and fundraisers for the Village, and enjoys living in Foster City with her husband, Bob.

Edd was born in Visalia, CA and at the age of 19 he went to work for the FBI in Los Angeles.  He later attended San Jose State, and in 1976 he embarked on what became a very successful career in real estate.  He and Kathy, his wife of 49 years, have three children and four grandchildren, and have lived in Foster City for 42 years, raising all their children here.

Edd is currently serving on the FCV Operations Committee, and was a co-founding Director of the Foster City Village.  He has enjoyed a long-standing commitment to the FC Rotary Club, the San Mateo Elks Lodge, past Founder/Chairman of the Public Service Committee for Real Estate and the San Mateo County Association of Realtors.  Edd was elected “Realtor of the Year” in San Mateo County in 2015.  Now that he is retired, Edd is actively involved in volunteering for events and providing rides for our members.

Mark was born in San Francisco and grew up in Burlingame, CA.  Mark attended Mills High School and then received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.  He is currently a new at large board member of the Foster City Village.  

Mark has had two distinct careers, having been a commercial lending officer at various local banks for a combined 25 years as well as having owned and operated Kickers Soccer Shop in Belmont for nearly a decade in the early 2000’s.  He currently works for Heritage Bank of Commerce in San Mateo. He has served on several local organizations, primarily centered on youth sports including approximately 15 years on the Regional Board and coach for Foster City AYSO, as well as having coached and umpired for Foster City Little League for the same amount of time.  Mark is also on the selection committee for the Youth Sports Wall of Fame that is located at Sea Cloud Park. He has lived in Foster City since 1995, where he currently resides with his wife, Suzy.  They have two children, Rachel and Jake.

Shari was born in San Diego, CA, has lived in Northern California most of her life, and attended UC Berkeley.  She has worked primarily in the corporate legal world for most of her adult life, starting with one of Silicon Valley’s first legal representatives of the high tech industry, evolving into training instructor, then practice manager, then moved up into assistant to General Council at Oracle Corporation, one of the three largest software companies in the world at the time.

 

Shari has lived in Foster City for 43 years. She has been with the Foster City Village since early in its inception in 2013.  Shari started out working in the office as one of the administrators, then assisted Marlene Hopper with membership, worked with the Lunch and Learn team in aligning speakers for the monthly luncheon, worked for a long while as Editor of the FCV newsletter, was instrumental in organizing the first annual FCV Benefit with Mary Bates, and, as a recently elected Member of the Board of Directors, enjoys the title of “Board Liaison”, between the Board and the office staff.
